Arlington Special Needs Activities & Programs
/ Arc
ASNAP / Arc sends a monthly calendar out to over one hundred twenty members, informing them of activities, birthdays, and up coming events. There are monthly dances for members at the Knights of Columbus. Members also have the opportunity to participate in bowling, swimming and basketball during the year. These activities are sponsored in partnership with the Arlington Boys and Girls Club and a group of wonderful volunteers. This group trains and brings teams to the State Special Olympics each year.
Helping others is a great way to say thank you for all that you have.
ASNAP / Arc relies on individual donations, sponsors and two fund raisers during the year: The Frank Donnelly Country Store in October and the Amie Scoppettuolo 5K Walk in May. The Country Store is held at the end of October each year. Businesses and individuals donate items. During the evening, people buy chances to win the items. The items range from the silly to extravagant. It is a wonderful evening.
This organization is dependent on volunteers and the contributions of private citizens like you. Request information from our email: asnaparc@comcast.net.
Most of the members are adults 23-66 years of age. Our volunteers average 50+. What we need the most are some parent / guardians / helpers with special needs children in the 10 - 20 year group to help run activities designed for them. We need some infusion of younger people to continue.
